For all of those out there who have a degree in art, are currently working on getting a degree in art, or just happen to love art and want to make a career out of it, this is a great opportunity for learning from others who have made a career for themselves:
“The College Art Association (CAA), in partnership with the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCUarts), will present its next National Professional-Development Workshop for Artists at the Grace Street Theater on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The one-day event, called “Toolkit for a Sustainable Life in the Arts: Ideas XS, S, M, L, XL,” will explore strategies for launching, renewing, and sustaining a career in the arts.”
The workshop is free to VCUarts students, faculty, and staff, and $25 for all other participants. Throughout the day you can expect everything from lectures to panels, buffets to networking opportunities, and a final reception at The Anderson Gallery (all included in the registration price, of course). Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis so be sure to register ASAP. Instructions for registration, more detailed information, and a schedule can be found at the CAA’s Workshops site. Any questions regarding the workshops should be directed to: Susan Schear, CAA national workshop project consultant, at 973-482-1000.
